Introduction
My name is Valerie Hyder, and I have completed the Master's Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program Summer 2016 and graduated Spring 2018. I graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 2002 with a BacheIor's degree in middle school education. Immediately after graduation, I began teaching preschool. After two years of teaching preschool, I moved to Georgia and began teaching middle school. I moved to Covington, Louisiana in July, 2021.
I currently teach Louisiana History to 8th grade students and U.S. History to 7th grade students at L.P. Monteleone Jr. High School in Mandeville, Louisiana. KSU's reputation in instructional technology led me to the Master's Degree program in the Department of Instructional Technology. I am continuing my education with KSU by enrolling in the Curriculum & Instruction Ed.S. program in Fall 2019 and will graduate in May, 2022.
The purpose of this portfolio is for me to demonstrate mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and the ISTE NETS-C standards. As you can see, there are a series of links below the KSU logo that you can visit. Of particular importance is the "Standards" link. Under this link, you will see a series of artifacts and reflections documenting the important work I have completed during this program. Each artifact represents mastery of the standard under which it is represented.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Kennesaw State University, and feel that I am well-prepared to integrate technology into my classroom and to assist other educators in using technology and providing professional learning opportunities for them.
